Biography: Product Liability Defence

Simon Castley focuses his practice in the area of product liability legal work for UK, US and European clients. He has worked extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East. His experience also includes litigation on corporate and commercial matters together with work on regulatory affairs and liability advice.

Mr Castley, a UK national, is fluent in English and French, having lived and worked both in London and Paris. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, International Bar Association, and is SHB's delegate at the Product Liability Forum, run by the British Institute of International and Comparative Law. In 2007, he was included in Expert Guides: Guide to the World's Leading Product Liability Lawyers and The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers.

He is the author of the UK section of the book Product Liability in 36 Jurisdictions Worldwide and 'Understanding Civil Litigation Procedures in England and Wales' in the Aspatore book Litigation Client Strategies for the UK. In 2008 he was the recipient of a Burton Award for legal writing.

Mr Castley has spent a significant amount of time in the United States gaining experience of US litigation methods. He is the managing partner of SHB's London office.
