Biography: Competition

Francisco (Paco) Cantos is the partner in charge of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer's antitrust, competition and trade (ACT) practice in Spain. He joined the firm over 15 years ago and has also worked in the London and Brussels offices. Paco specialises in all areas of EU and Spanish antitrust law. He has represented many multinational and Spanish clients before the EU and Spanish competition authorities, including Bayer, Ferrovial, Iberia, L'Oréal, Mahou San Miguel, Marks & Spencer, PepsiCo, Sony, Sotheby's and Total.

Born in 1962, Paco was educated at the University of Madrid (UAM) and the College of Europe in Bruges (LLM). He joined the partnership in 1998. He has published and lectured frequently on competition law matters and speaks Spanish, English and French.
