Rino Caiazzo is a partner of the law firm Ughi e Nunziante, practising as a lawyer mainly in the areas of competition law, telecommunications, corporate M&A law and energy. He has been Vice Chairman of Committee C (Antitrust and Trade Law) of the International Bar Association.
He is author, inter alia, of 'The New Italian Antitrust Law' (International Merger Law, 1991); 'Securities Trading and European Community Legislation' (Comparative Law Yearbook of International Business, 1992); Acquisition of Shares in a Foreign Country (Graham & Trotman, 1992); International Mergers: The Antitrust Process, chapter on Italy (Sweet & Maxwell, 3rd edition, 2004); Legal Aspects of EU Energy Regulation, chapter on Italy (Oxford University Press, 2005).
He graduated in law from Rome University in 1981 and obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of London (London School of Economics and Political Science) in 1986 and is now the honorary chairman of the LSE Italian Alumni Association.
The law firm Studio Legale Ughi e Nunziante was formed in 1969 and it now comprises more than 80 lawyers. Major areas of practice include corporate work, M&A, corporate finance and stock exchange regulations, competition law, EC law, administrative law, telecommunications regulations and litigation.
