Biography: Private funds

Stephanie R Breslow is a partner and co-head of Schulte Roth & Zabel's investment management group and a member of the firm's executive committee. Her practice includes investment management, partnerships and securities, focusing on the formation of liquid securities funds, private equity funds (including LBO, mezzanine, distressed, real estate and venture) and providing regulatory advice to investment managers and broker-dealers. She also represents fund sponsors and institutional investors with seed-capital investments in fund managers and acquisitions of interests in investment management businesses. She regularly represents funds of funds and other institutional investors in connection with their investment activities.

A Harvard University graduate, Ms Breslow received her law degree from Columbia University where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She is a founding member of New York's Private Investment Fund Forum, and is a member of the advisory board of Third Way Capital Markets Initiative. She is a member of the board of directors of 100 Women in Hedge Funds and a member of the board of trustees of the Joyce Theater in New York. In 2010 and 2011, Ms Breslow was named one of The Hedge Fund Journal's 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds.

Ms Breslow co-authored Private Equity Funds: Formation and Operation, published by Practising Law Institute, and 'Hedge Fund Investment in Private Equity,' an article in Private Equity 2005-2006, a PLC cross-border handbook.
