Stephen Bomse is chair of the firm's global competition practice of more than 80 attorneys. He has tried cases involving multibillion-dollar claims throughout the United States and has argued appeals in the United States Supreme Court and seven different federal circuit courts. Mr Bomse was counsel to GTE Sylvania in the landmark United States Supreme Court case, Continental T V Inc v GTE Sylvania Inc and to Weyerhaeuser Company in a major Section 2 pricing case decided in the most recent term.

Mr Bomse was lead counsel for Visa USA Inc in the lawsuit brought against Visa and MasterCard by the US government and also represented Visa in the 'Wal-Mart' class actions, which are believed to be the largest private treble damage actions in US antitrust history. Among Mr Bomse's other antitrust clients are 3M, Sony Corporation and Pacific Gas & Electric. He was recently retained to represent one of China's leading vitamin C manufacturers in what is believed to be the first antitrust case to be filed against mainland Chinese corporations.

Mr Bomse received his LLB in 1967 from Yale Law School, where he was an editor of the Yale Law Journal. He received his AB from Stanford University in 1964. In 1988-1989, Mr Bomse was a visiting professor at Stanford Law School.
