George regularly arbitrates (as sole, chair and party-appointed arbitrator) in both ad hoc and institutional arbitrations worldwide across all legal fields. He belongs to arbitration panels of the USCIB (ICC national committee for US), the AAA's International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), Center for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), CIETAC and Korean Commercial Arbitration Board. He is a director of the AAA, member of the Institute of Transnational Arbitration (ITA) academic council, and co-founder of the Hong Kong Arbitration-Mediation Moot Court. He appears regularly before courts and arbitral tribunals as court- or party-appointed expert on US and foreign law.
George is chief reporter, ALI Restatement of the US Law of International Commercial Arbitration, co-author (with Emmanuel Gaillard) of the forthcoming UNCITRAL Guide to the NY Convention, editor-in-chief of the American Review of International Arbitration, president of the Académie Internationale de Droit Comparé and former president of the American Society of Comparative Law. He has authored numerous books and a great many articles and book chapters on international arbitration and litigation, EU law and comparative law.
He was educated at Yale College, Yale Law School and the University of Paris, and holds an honorary degree from the Universities of Fribourg and Versailles.
