Daniel Bereskin is a founding partner of Bereskin & Parr and head of the firm's trademark practice group. Dan is a registered patent and trademark agent in Canada and the US. He holds degrees in engineering physics and law, both from the University of Saskatchewan. Dan was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1964 and has practised exclusively in the field of intellectual property law since then.

Dan has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation and dispute settlement. He has served as legal counsel to the International Trademark Association (INTA), has served on INTA's board of directors, and is a member of the INTA panel of neutrals for Canada. Dan has served as an adviser to the American Law Institute (ALI) on transnational IP dispute jurisdiction, choice of law and judgment issues.

In surveys conducted by various leading publications, including Who's Who Legal and Trademark World, Dan is consistently rated as one of the leading trademark experts in the world. In 2006 and 2007, he was recognised by Who's Who Legal as being the most highly regarded trademark lawyer in the world, and in 2007, he was named among the most highly regarded patent lawyers globally.

Dan is the author of more than 50 papers and articles on various intellectual property law subjects, and is a frequent speaker at seminars in Canada, the US and Europe. He provides strategic planning and sound business advice relating to all aspects of intellectual property law.
