Biography: Banking

René Bösch is head of the financial services practice team. He joined Homburger as an associate in 1989 and has been a partner since 1998. He graduated as Dr iur from the University of Zurich in 1987 and was admitted to practise in 1990. René Bösch also studied at the University of Chicago, from which he graduated as an LLM in 1991, and was a visiting foreign associate with Sullivan & Cromwell in New York from 1991 to 1992.

His practice focuses on financial markets law, particularly banking law and financial services regulation, and specialises in offerings of debt and equity-linked securities, regulatory capital instruments (in particular for banks) as well as hybrid financial instruments. Other special services include internal investigations in a regulatory context, corporate finance and corporate law. René Bösch has published and lectured on banking and financial market-related matters. He is past co-chair of the securities law committee and immediate past co-chair of the capital markets forum of the International Bar Association.
