His experience includes representing a Fortune 100 company in the commercial mortgage leaseback securitisation of its corporate headquarters; assisting in drafting of mortgage-backed securitisation legislation for Russia and Ukraine; and representing a hospitality REIT in the largest Texas IPO in 2003.
Mr Barbour has lectured annually in June the last three years on 'securitisation in developing countries' at the Wharton International Housing Finance Program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Mr Barbour was a speaker on NYSE and NASDAQ corporate governance and listing standards reform at the SMU Corporate Counsel Symposium on 1 November 2002, in Dallas.
Mr Barbour has spoken frequently on securitisation at programmes in many foreign countries.
He received a JD with honours from The University of Texas School of Law in 1974, where he was a member of Chancellors and Order of the Coif. He received a BBA with highest honours from The University of Texas in 1971. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas 1974, and has been a partner with Andrews Kurth since 1994.
