In recent years Ken has specialised in transactions with a cross-border flavour. Transactions include: the ICO satellite mobile phone reconstruction involving US chapter 11 procedures, common law provisional liquidations and a number of creditor schemes designed to give effect to the chapter 11 plan outside the US; the successful work out of a Latvia-based bank (Rigas Komercbanka, now known as First Latvian Commercial Bank); advising on the liquidation of Boo.com (the UK's first major internet insolvency); and advising the officeholders on a number of telecom insolvencies/restructurings, notably of 360 networks (a fibre optic carrier), Flag Telecom and the supervisors of the Marconi Scheme of Arrangement.
Ken is co-author of the cross-border issues chapter of Tolley's Insolvency Law with Peter Bloxham. He is a regular speaker at conferences on cross-border and high-technology insolvencies and reconstructions.
Ken is the current president of the Insolvency Lawyers Association.
Born in 1964, Ken was educated at the University of Glasgow, and is qualified as a solicitor in both England and Scotland.
