Rod S Attride-Stirling JP is the senior partner of Attride-Stirling & Woloniecki. He specialises in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, insurance and reinsurance. His experience includes: litigating and arbitrating controversial claims, including claims involving reinsurance and captive insurance companies, their parents, retrocessionaires, managers and brokers; transnational insolvency matters; and advising in relation to policy wordings and various types of transactions involving insurance and reinsurance companies.

Mr Attride-Stirling is admitted as a barrister and attorney in Bermuda (UK), 1992; as justice of the peace; as notary public and commissioner of oaths, in Bermuda. He is a president of the Bermuda Bar Association, a member of the Insurance Advisory Committee and the International Business Forum (both Bermuda government advisory committees), a board member of AIDA (US) (Association Internationale de Droit des Assurance), and a member of the IBA, ARIAS (US) and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is a former chairman of the Investment Business Act Review Committee and former chairman of the Humans Rights Commission of Bermuda.

Mr Attride-Stirling received his Associates degree from the University of Maryland (1987), his Law degree (LLB Hons) from the University of Buckingham (1989) and the UK Solicitors Finals from Chester College of Law (1991).

Mr Attride-Stirling is the author of numerous publications, including: the Bermuda chapter of International Insurance Law and Regulation. He is a frequent speaker at international reinsurance and arbitration conferences.

Mr Attride-Stirling is fluent in Spanish and has working knowledge of French.
