Biography: Real Estate

Virginia Aronson is head of Sidley Austin LLP's global real estate practice and a member of the firm's executive and management committees. Mrs Aronson has represented lenders, investors and developers in a wide range of commercial real estate transactions including construction and permanent financings, mezzanine financings and sale leasebacks; disposition of portfolios, acquisition and disposition of office buildings and hotels; joint venture formation, REIT formation and financing; partnership roll-ups, workouts of troubled real estate projects, leasing and vertical subdivisions.

Mrs Aronson is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, the Chicago Mortgage Attorneys Association, the Chicago Network, and co-chair of the large law firm committee for the Chicago Bar Association. She is on the board of directors of the Chicago Central Area Committee and the Civic Consulting Alliance and the Leadership Council of the Chicago Public Education Fund.
