Biography: Corporate Governance

Kevin Allen is a partner in the corporate department of A&L Goodbody. He specialises in corporate governance, compliance and regulatory law. He provides advice in this area to businesses in all sectors. He has particular expertise in the financial services sector, advising financial institutions on all aspects of financial services regulation, compliance and related matters. He is head of A&L Goodbody's business regulation and corporate governance unit and the firm's financial services regulation and compliance unit.

He advises on all aspects of corporate governance including board structure and composition, board process, board review, directors statutory and fiduciary duties, securities regulations, investigations of alleged misconduct or breach of regulation and specific action required during takeover and other extraordinary transactions. He also provides advice on compliance systems including policies and procedures for ensuring compliance with obligations.

Kevin headed the team that advised the Irish government on the establishment of the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority. He is recommended as a leading lawyer by a number of legal directories and is a regular speaker at conferences on corporate governance and compliance issues.
