Biography: Private funds
Peter Alhanko is a partner of Mannheimer Swartling and heads the firm's private equity group in Stockholm. His practice focuses on advising managers and investors on the establishment and operation of a wide range of private investment funds in Sweden and abroad such as buyout funds, venture-capital funds, fund-of-funds and infrastructure funds. He also regularly assists private-investment funds on mergers and acquisitions and provides advice to portfolio companies on corporate matters.
For many years, Alhanko has acted on behalf of several international private-equity firms including Argan Capital and EQT Opportunity Fund. On the investor side, his clients include the Sixth AP Fund and Skandia Life Insurance Company.
Alhanko received his MBA in international business from the Stockholm School of Economics in 1982. He received his LLM in business law from the University of Stockholm in 1984, and his LLM with a major in corporate finance from Columbia Law School in 1987. He has been a member of the Swedish Bar Association since 1992.
Alhanko has been a partner of Mannheimer Swartling since 1999. Mannheimer Swartling is one of the major Swedish law firms, employing some 350 lawyers.
