NADER HAYAUX Y GOEBEL
Established in 2011 after breaking away from Jáuregui Navarrete y Nader SC, Nader Hayaux & Goebel SC draws on the talent and the reputation of its founding partners, who have more than 20 years experience working together. The firm is a corporate boutique specialising in M&A, project finance and banking, and has most of its listings in the latter practice area. Thirteen listings feature in total.
The firm is well represented in the banking chapter with five inclusions. The founder of the firm, Michell Nader Schekaiban has “superior legal knowledge” in the corporate field. He specialises in structured funding and corporate ventures for clients in the real estate sector. He also deals with debt restructurings for domestic and foreign banks operating in Mexico and earns a mention in the banking, M&A, project finance and real estate chapters.
Also listed in the banking chapter, Javier Arreola Espinosa is an “active” banking and work-outs practitioner. He has represented the government of Mexico on a number of economic issues, and has done work for GE Capital and BNP Paribas, among others.
Julián Garza Castañeda focuses on structuring capital where he is a “recognised” name. He handles regulation queries and has developed a niche expertise in development capital certificates. He counts Moodys, Banamex and Prudential Financing as clients.
The “highly respected” banking lawyer, Hans Goebel Caviedes advises on financings and was involved in one of the largest restructurings in Mexico this year. He advised Barclays in the multimillion-dollar debt reorganisation of retailer Comercial Mexicana, and has done work for Navix and Prendamex, among others. He does significant work in the project finance arena, assisting on tenders and sourcing capital for banks, funds and property companies. He enjoys additional listings in the M&A and project finance chapters.
Yves Hayaux-du-Tilly concentrates on the regulatory elements of banking law and advises multinational banks and investment institutions. He is an all round “excellent” lawyer and deals with the regulatory and financing side of ventures for low budget and regional airlines. He is listed in the transport and banking chapters.
The “impressive” Vanessa Franyutti Johnstone specialises in real estate investment and project financing, with an interest in public private partnerships in Mexico. She acts for commercial property consortia and leading commercial groups. She is noted in the project finance and real estate chapters.
