AELEX
AELEX was formed in 2004 as the result of a merger between O Adekoya & Co, Victor & Charles, Anga & Emuwa and Adegbite Adeniji & Co. This combination of expertise has created one of the largest firms in West Africa with a diverse range of legal services on offer, as evidenced by the firm’s 15 listings across 12 of the following chapters.
The firm’s strongest presence is in our insolvency and restructuring chapter, where three lawyers earn recognition. Funke Adekoya SAN is an “outstanding” practitioner and was identified as similarly impressive in the arbitration and commercial litigation chapters. Adedapo Tunde-Oluwu is “renowned” for his work relating to insolvency, receivership and corporate liquidation, and the “skilful work” of Olanipekun Orewale earns him recognition in this chapter also. Theophilus Emuwa is the firm’s leading name in intellectual property, being the sole representative for the firm in this chapter.
Another of the firm’s strong suits is the oil and gas sector, where Soji Awogbade is noted for his “superior” abilities. He has been personally involved in the majority of foreign investment cases in the petroleum industry, and is “in demand” for his expert knowledge in transactional cases.
Lawrence Fubara Anga is considered “excellent” in three sectors: aviation, banking and project finance. His “vast experience” in capital markets and project finance puts him among the most prominent practitioners in the country.
