Magisters

Magisters was established in 1997 and has grown into a full service, international firm with offices in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and recently London. The firm lists 21 lawyers over 11 practice areas.

In project finance four lawyers are listed. Kirill Ratnikov is the head of the M&A and corporate practice in Moscow and the CIS-wide Infrastructure and PPP Practice. He is held in high esteem by clients, such as the Russian ministry of transport and Golden Telecom. He is joined by Ilya Skripnikov who is very active in due diligence concerns and structuring major infrastructure transactions.

Project finance lawyer Anna T Rusetskaya has facilitated foreign investments from major international companies into the Belarusian market. She also has entries in the management labour and employment and M&A chapters where she is “well recognised” as the head of the M&A and corporate practice in Minsk.

Olga Khoroshylova features in five practice areas. She is lauded for her experience assisting Ukrainian oil and gas companies in project finance, and is “very good” as the head of the Kiev capital markets, banking and finance group. She is “one of the best” on bond options within the Ukraine and advises domestic companies on insolvency and restructuring issues. Alongside her in capital markets is Andrew Mac, the managing partner of the Kiev office. He is both a capital markets and M&A “expert” having built up an international practice. He specialises in acquisitions of multinationals, securities and competition matters.

M&A lawyer Dennis V Turovets is a managing partner of the Minsk office. He features in our corporate tax chapter along with “tax expert” Vladimir Didenko, and the trade and customs chapter for his experience in territorial IP matters. Turovets also combines his knowledge in acquisitions and privatisation with representation of clients such as McDonalds in commercial litigation.

Moscow managing partner Dmitry Dyakin is “a very big name” in dispute resolution. Together with Serhii Sviriba, who is the head of the international arbitration and litigation practice, Dyakin’s practice centres on representing state monopolies, international oil and gas, banking and construction companies. Alexey Reznikov is a “key player” as the head of the litigation practice.
