Maria Bäckman is promoted to general counsel at JM AB
Nordic based housing development company JM AB has appointed Maria Bäckman as general counsel.
Leaving her position as in house counsel to the corporation, a role she held since April 2000, Bäckman will now become a member of the executive management team and serve as secretary to the board.
Johan Skoglund, president and CEO of JM, has praised Bäckman for gaining “sound experience” with the company and ‘familiarity with the business.’
“She has worked at JM for many years, and thus has a broad internal contact network and a very good reputation in the organization. As a result, Maria will be a major asset in terms of JM’s continued development,” he adds.
Bäckman succeeds Urban Lilja who is retiring after holding the position of general counsel and secretary to the board for 16 years.
Founded in 1945, JM AB has become a leading developer of residential and commercial properties in the Nordic region.
