Leading IP lawyer strengthens European team at Dechert
Marianne Schaffner has joined international law firm Dechert LLP as a partner in Paris.
She arrives from Linklaters LLP where she headed the IP practice and co-headed the media and entertainment group. She joins with a team of associates.
Speaking on her appointment, Schaffner said: “My team and I are thrilled to join Dechert, a firm whose intellectual property department is globally recognised for its excellence in the field and its capacity to create strong relationships with other departments, notably in the health and life sciences sectors.”
Schaffner has extensive IP experience in French and pan-European patent litigation in the life sciences, technology and telecommunications sectors. She also advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, LBO and capital market transactions as well as matters involving custom agreements.
“We are quite pleased to augment our European capabilities with the addition of someone as experienced as Marianne,” said Ann Caviani Pease, co-chair of Dechert’s intellectual property group. “Her team’s focus in the life sciences area is of particular importance in our Paris office and is of strategic value to our clients.”
