Mexico: Trade & Customs

With a series of anti-dumping cases over the past year, work in this sector shows no sign of slowing down and lawyers reported a definite upward trend in the number of trade remedy cases. In this growing sector we feature 13 of the country’s leading names.

At Baker & McKenzie, two lawyers are selected. Raymundo Enríquez is a member of the firm’s executive committee as well as chairman of the Latin America regional council and is “greatly respected” for his “high-profile” tax and trade work. Edmundo Elí­as-Fernández is the Mexico and Latin America coordinator of the firm’s foreign trade and customs practice in addition he is coordinator of the international trade, compliance and customs practice group. David Hurtado Badiola at Jáuregui y Navarrete SC is a “talented litigator” with expertise covering international trade, anti-dumping and customs law.

Basham Ringe y Correa SC’s Gerardo Hernandez is a “long-standing expert” in the field with over 35 years of experience and is particularly proficient in tariff classification, import duties and illegal practices in international trade.

At Sánchez DeVanny Esseverri SC, Turenna Ramírez-Ortiz advises national and foreign clients in relation to trade and customs and has advised several foreign companies in the development of their businesses in Mexico.
