This environment is a breeding ground for trademarks practices and Brazilian firms have certainly risen to the challenge. Our research identifies 30 exceptional lawyers.
Dannemann Siemsen Bigler & Ipanema Moreira gets top marks in this sector, with five of its lawyers listed. Peter Dirk Siemsen is described as “one of the deans of IP law in Brazil” and is admired by colleagues and clients. Luiz Henrique do Amaral is well-reputed for his “impressive knowledge”.
At Momsen Leonardos & Cia three lawyers are recommended for their expertise in trademarks. Luiz Leonardos was cited as “one of Brazil’s most distinguished lawyers” and the “superb” Gabriel Francisco Leonardos has produced “astonishing work” in the field over the last year. Gustavo Starling Leonardos strengthens the team’s expertise with his “first-rate, practical counsel”.
Veirano Advogados sees three of its practitioners included in this year’s list. Valdir Rocha is “one of the most respected in the field” and specialises in the registration, licensing and litigation of trademarks. Barbosa, Müssnich & Arragão – BM&A Propriedade Intelectual earns two inclusions this year. The “very well-known” Antonella Carminatti is the most highly nominated lawyer in this chapter and the quality of her work was described as “second to none”. Claudia Christina Schulz is commended for her “analytical mind” and “excellent client service”.
Daniel Advogados also sees two of its lawyers listed. Denis Daniel is “very well-known” and “a master in the field” while Ricardo Pinho “will always go the extra mile for a client”. Both are commended for the “outstanding quality” of their advice.
Two lawyers at Pinheiro Nunes Arnaud e Scatamburlo Advogados have made this year’s list. José Moita Horta is “a great attorney” and Roberto Santo Scatamburlo is respected for his “insightful and focused counsel”.
Eduardo Magalhães of Montaury Pimenta, Machado & Vieira de Mello is a specialist in trademarks and is active in both national and international debate on IP, while Luiz Edgard Montaury Pimenta is rated by peers for his “immense knowledge” of the subject.
