Gide Loyrette Nouel - Who's Who Legal 70

What is the Who's Who Legal 70?

Law Firm of the Year – France

Gide Loyrette Nouel in Who's Who Legal

Founded in Paris in 1920, Gide Loyrette Nouel has more than 650 lawyers in 19 offices throughout the world. The firm has 34 listings in this book across 23 practice areas and is the most highly respected French law firm.

Three lawyers are listed from the firm’s project finance practice group. John Crothers is an “absolutely superb” lawyer. The “very sharp” François Krotoff heads the oil, gas and mining practice and also features in the oil and gas chapter. In Casablanca, Hicham Naciri manages the office and is regarded by peers as a “trusted and efficient pair of hands”.

Gide has a strong commercial litigation team, with three lawyers from the Paris office selected in the corresponding chapter. Carole Malinvaud has a “thorough and strategic approach” that is highly valued by clients and also appears in the arbitration chapter. Phillippe Nouel is “well known” for his expertise in this area and is joined by Pierre Raoul-Duval, the senior partner of the firm.

Gide features highly in the corporate tax and real estate chapters, with three lawyers listed in each. Olivier Dauchez is “a serious player” in the tax field, as is Richard Beauvais. Frédéric Nouel is “brilliant” for real estate and is supported by the “tremendous” Eric Martin-Impératori and Renaud Baguenault de Puchesse.

Additional leading names from the firm include Philippe Desprès for his “expert counsel” in the management, labour and employment field. Oliver Puech features prominently in the insolvency and restructuring research, as does Brussels-based Olivier Prost in the trade and customs chapter. The firm is strong in M&A where Youssef Djehane, who also scores highly in our corporate governance chapter, is featured.

Our research selects lawyers from the firm in an additional 14 chapters, illustrating that Gide Loyrette Nouel continues to play a leading role in France and beyond.
