Firm of the Year 2012: Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has been named Global Law Firm of the Year 2012 in the Who's Who Legal Awards.

This marks the sixth occasion that the firm has gained this recognition since the awards began in 2005

The winners are announced in The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers 2012, a compendium edition of all the individual Who's Who Legal publications that identifies the leading practitioners across 31 areas of law and over 100 countries.

The awards are based on a number of factors, including the feedback received in the ongoing research process, past performance in the research and the overall aggregate number of weighted votes cast in their favour.

Who's Who Legal used the thousands of nominations it has received from clients and private practice professionals to select Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as the law firm of the year. With lawyers from the firm listed 210 times in the compendium edition and a presence in 28 of the 31 practice areas we cover, Freshfields is home to more of the world’s leading practitioners than any other firm in our research.

Freshfields won further awards as the leading firm in the areas of Commercial Arbitration and Competition, and for the first time, Mergers and Acquisitions. The firm was also recognised as the leading firm in England and Germany, and Frank Montag was selected for the third time running as the leading lawyer for Competition work worldwide.
