Biography: Corporate Immigration

Austin T Fragomen Jr is chairman of the executive committee for the world's leading corporate immigration law firm, Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy LLP.

Over the course of his career in immigration, Mr Fragomen has served as staff counsel to the US House of Representatives subcommittee on immigration, citizenship and international law and as an adjunct professor of law at New York University School of Law. Additionally, Mr Fragomen has testified before Congress on a range of immigration issues. Most recently, he provided testimony in support of the L-1 visa category usage by multinational companies in July of 2003.

Mr Fragomen is vice chairman of the board of directors of the Center for Migration Studies; on the editorial board of the International Migration Review; chairman of the board of directors of the American Council on International Personnel; member of the board of the Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLINIC); member of the board of City Bar Foundation; and chairman of the Practising Law Institute's Annual Immigration Institute. He is also the co-author of the Immigration Handbook series, publications that provide information on the best practices and latest developments in the field, published by West Group. He attended Georgetown University (BS, 1965) and Case Western Reserve University (JD 1968).
