Leading employee benefits provider appoints new general counsel

Liston Bishop III has been officially named as general counsel and vice president of the Unum Group after eight months serving as provisional general counsel.

Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Bishop will be responsible for all of the company's legal, compliance and regulatory matters and will report to president and chief legal officer Thomas Watjen.
He comes to the company from Miller & Martin PLLC.
