K&L Gates combine with Carolina firm Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman LLP

K & L Gates and Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman LLP voted to combine to expand their presence in the Carolinas.

The merged firm will have 175 lawyers present in the area and 1,700 in total across the United States, Asia and Europe. The deal became effective on 1 July and the combined firm will maintain the K & L Gates name. The enlarged firm will benefit from Covington's local experience in a wide range of practice areas including real estate, litigation and private equity.
